What can be found in Penola

Penola’s got a different nutritional make-up to other granolas you’ve tried. Most granola’s are oat-based with a sprinkle of other ingredients. Penola’s a third oats, nuts, seeds and coconut – which makes it tastier and nuts and seeds are a good source of protein.

I keep the balance of dried fruit low as it keeps the overall sugar levels low. You can enjoy it as a snack or sprinkled on top of yoghurt.  I like it mixed through a fresh fruit salad on a hot day.

Classic Penola is a perfect blend of coconut flakes, mixed nuts (including peanuts), gluten-free oats, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, raisins, cinnamon, coconut oil and rice malt syrup.

Rice malt syrup is made from 100% organic brown rice. It is made through culturing rice with enzymes to breakdown the starches, then cooking until it becomes syrup. The final product contains soluble complex carbohydrates, maltose and a small amount of glucose. It’s 100% fructose free.

I have chosen it for Penola because it doesn’t have an overly sweet flavour. This can help if you want to train your tastebuds away from needing a sweet-tasting breakfast. If you want to add more sweetness, you can be in control of that. It is also vegan - which means more people can enjoy Penola.
